The following are materials needed to file your biennial Montana insurance continuing education requirements. Please note that resident licenses do not need to be renewed, but continuing education credits need to be filed to keep your license valid. 

• A list of Continuing Education Course Providers. The name, address and phone number of each sponsoring organization with Montana-approved insurance continuing education courses. 

• Resident licensees who are licensed in reciprocal states may comply with those states' continuing education requirement by meeting Montana's requirements and then filing the appropriate forms for that state. List of Reciprocal States.

Licensees file prior to the lapse date on the individual insurance producer license.

Filing forms will be mailed to the licensee prior to the filing deadline (lapse) date.

Montana resident licensees who do not file continuing education compliance on or before the license lapse/renew by date will be lapsed.
