State Auditor announces creation of Securities Advisory Council
Group will focus on promotion of financial literacy in Montana
State Auditor John Morrison has established a Securities Advisory Council with members of the financial services industry to develop better communication with the industry. The group will focus on effective and efficient regulation, financial literacy education, consumer protection and securities legislation.
Morrison, Montana's Securities Commissioner, appointed 11 members to the council, representing a variety of interests and geographical areas. The members are:

"We need input from the industry in order to meet our objectives of excellent consumer protection and efficient regulation," Morrison said. "The financial advisers and salespeople on this committee have the practical knowledge and community perspective we need."
Morrison said the advisory council will be particularly helpful with promotion of capital formation and consumer education in Montana.
